1.Tell us a bit about your business journey, how you came about deciding what to sell and how you got started?
My business focuses on products made from bidara leaves which are used for bathing and tea (for drinks). I do think that my products are special because because it has been used as the main ingredient in many parts of Asia and the Middle East. One of the special benefits of bidara leaves is because it has been mentioned in various research journals, proven to overcome stress and some health issues, as well as bringing some advantages in the conventional curing methods. My objective is to bring these advantages into a product that is easily used for the customers so I came out with this shower gel that are made from the bidara leaves. This way, it can be retrieved easily in the market.
2.Can you share with us when and how did you make your first sale? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
I first started the business with an offline spa service for women back in 2012. Back then, I love to read blogs and buy some products I used for my business. After that, I started my own online business in my own blog. I had several blogs for business and also for personal usage. I came to realize that most of my customers are using Facebook and that’s when I converted to Facebook and made a page for my spa service. I find that Facebook is easier to market my business than a blog. My first online sale was through my business blog and it went well from 2012-2015. Now that the trend has changed, my highest sales are now on my Facebook page which is Gel Mandian Sidr Bidara Seriemas Hq.
3.Could you tell us how AVANA has helped your business? What features did you find most useful?
My business started with only one product and now it has expanded to 18 main products. So, it is compulsory for me to have a proper catalogue. AVANA Webstore has helped me to do that with an attractive design for my products. Other than that, the Auto Reply feature has managed to help me reply all my customers’ messages in a prompt manner. For me, Auto Reply and Messenger Bot is also one of the features that saves up most of my time because inquiries from customers can be replied automatically.
Another feature that I love is the Coupon Code which I can use to reward all my loyal customers. They keep ordering my products because they feel appreciated with the coupon codes that I share for them to use during purchases. AVANA also provides ample training from time to time. 4.What advice would you give to those who are planning to start an e-commerce business?
My advice to all the newbies in online businesses, please consider that millions of users are active on Facebook nowadays. Of course starting an online business by Facebook is a brilliant idea. Then starting a business Facebook store especially with AVANA is a good investment and there’s a little risk that you’re gonna fail. If I were to find AVANA earlier during my startup days, I believe that my business would prosper even more.
