5 Product Photography Tips for Better Selling
May 16, 2013 4:41 am Leave your thoughtsHere are 3 simple tips to help you achieve just that
1. A Simple Background
Your background shouldn’t distract your customers attention from the product that you are selling. When in doubt, stick with a neutral background to help draw attention to your product and its details/features

2. Get Creative
While your background should remain simple, don’t be afraid to add some props into the photo. Be sure to use props related to the product to enhance the product imagery

3. Use Natural Lighting
Stay away from using your camera flash and artificial lighting. Look for an evenly lit spot for your product photoshoot. Try to avoid direct sunlight, as the shadows and lighting will be too dramatic. You also want to make sure your light source is coming from the sides

It’s essential to let shoppers have the best 3-D representation of the product that you are selling so that they have the right perception of the product that they intend to buy. To do this, all you need to do is offer photos of the product from multiple angles

While Instagram and other photo editing applications enhance images for sharing, photo editing should be kept minimal and of necessity only, to preserve the original product colour so that shoppers can make informed decisions on their purchase
